Note: Long, full, close-sleeved garments worn by Chrisitan clergy and as secular garments in Greco-Roman and later times, often white in color. Albs are worn by Christian priests and occasionally by consecrated kings, often beneath other vestments. They are white in the Western Church and of varying colors in the Eastern Church. Albs were sometimes decorated with richly embroidered apparels at the wrists and along the bottom. For loose, sleeveless or full-sleeved garments, prefer "dalmatics."

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Liturgische gewaden met lange, strakke mouwen en een volledige rok, meestal van linnen gemaakt. Alben worden door christelijke priesters en soms ook door gewijde koningen gedragen, vaak onder een ander gewaad. In de westerse kerken zijn ze wit en in de oosterse kerken kunnen ze allerlei kleuren hebben. Alben werden soms gedecoreerd met rijk geborduurde apparels bij de polsen en langs de onderzijde. De term verwijst eveneens naar soortgelijke niet-kerkelijke kleding, met name zoals die door de oude Grieken en Romeinen werd gedragen. 
Spanish ..... Vestimenta religiosa larga, de mangas cerradas con un falda enteriza, generalmente forrada. Es blanca en la Iglesia Occidental, y de varios colores en la Oriental. También, prenda secular similar, especialmente aquéllas que se llevaba en la época grecorromana.
