Note: Refers to linear perspective in which there are three vanishing points, generally in the context of rectangular forms depicted so that none of their sides is parallel to the picture plane, but instead each of three groups of parallel lines recede to their own vanishing points. This technique was made popular in 17th-century European stage design. It may also refer to depictions in which there are three points of view, as was also often used in Chinese hanging scroll landscapes, in which the viewer sees the foreground from above, the middle ground at eye-level, and the highest objects from below.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 採用三個消失點的透視法，一般是在描繪長方形物體時使用，如此一來，物體的長、寬、高三邊線不會和圖畫平面成平行，而構成物體平面圖像的三組平行線則往各個消失點的方向退縮。西元十七世紀時，歐洲的舞臺設計大量使用三點透視法，之後此技法漸趨普遍。此詞彙也可指稱採用三種視角的繪畫技法，中國的卷軸式山水畫中亦常使用這種三點透視法，或稱散點透視法，觀畫者可以由上往下觀看前景，中景位於視平線一帶，畫面中最高的物件則可由下往上觀賞。 |

Verwijst naar lineair perspectief waarbij sprake is van drie verdwijnpunten, over het algemeen in de context van rechthoekige vormen die zodanig zijn afgebeeld dat geen van hun zijden parallel is aan het afbeeldingsvlak, maar dat elk van drie groepen van parallelle lijnen samenkomt in een eigen verdwijnpunt. Deze techniek werd populair in 17de-eeuws Europees toneelontwerp. Deze term kan ook verwijzen naar afbeeldingen waarin sprake is van drie gezichtspunten, zoals ook vaak het geval was bij Chinese hangende rolschilderijen, waarbij de kijker de voorgrond van boven ziet, het middenplan op oogniveau en de hoogste objecten van onderen. |
