| Chinese (traditional) ..... 原指君主頒發的特許證，授權個人經由報復或賠償損害之方式，捕押他國人民或其貨物；後來則專指由政府授予個人的任何許可證或特別委任狀，旨在同意此人於海上指揮武裝船艦以捕押敵船與貨物。 |
| Dutch ..... Oorspronkelijk brieven afgegeven door een soeverein die iemand toestemming geven de onderdanen van een vreemde staat ondergeschikt te maken, of hun goederen in beslag te nemen, bij wijze van vergelding of represaille. Later vooral toestemming of buitengewone opdracht van een regering aan iemand om op een bewapend schip het bevel te voeren en vijandelijke schepen en goederen te veroveren. |
