In Amerikaans militair woordgebruik: korte op een jas gelijkende bovenkleding, als onderdeel van een militair uniform gedragen door legerpersoneel, hoofdzakelijk tijdens velddienst en corvee, en in verband gebracht met generaal Dwight D. Eisenhower tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. In Brits militair woordgebruik ook getailleerde bovenkleding met een gordel aan de binnenzijde en met knopen vastgemaakt aan de broek, gedragen door land- en luchtsoldaten. |

In den Vereinigten Staaten von den Streikräften genutzte, kurze mantelähnliche Oberbekleidung als Teil einer Militäruniform von Armeeangehörigen getragen, vor allem beim Kampahnen oder bei strapaziösen Einsätzen; wird mit General Dwight D. Eisenhower im Zweiten Weltkrieg assoziiert. Auch in der britischen Armee als Oberbekleidung verwendet, dort bis zur Taille reichend und mit innenliegenden Hüftgürteln, durch Knöpfe mit der Hose verbunden; von Soldaten und Piloten getragen. |

En el uso militar de Estados Unidos, prenda exterior a modo de chaqueta corta que lleva el personal del ejércio como parte del uniforme militar, sobre todo para uso de campaña; asociada al el General D. D. Eisenhower durante la II Guerra Mundial. También, en el uso militar británico, prenda exterior que llevan los soldados y aviadores, cortada a la cintura con un cinturón interior y que se sujeta a los pantalones con botones. |
