Note: Tile with one face molded to look like the face or end of a brick; it was particularly popular between 1784 (the year the brick tax was passed in England) and 1850 (when the tax was repealed). It would be nailed to battens on a timber frame or other wall, or, occasionally, bedded into plaster rendering over cobble stones or pebbles.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Tegel waarvan één kant zo is gevormd dat deze op de voorkant of het uiteinde van een baksteen lijkt. Zeer populair tussen 1784 (het jaar waarin de 'brick tax' (baksteenbelasting) in Engeland werd ingevoerd) en 1850 (toen deze belasting weer werd afgeschaft). De tegels werden aan latten bevestigd op een houten frame of ander soort muur, of soms ook gezet in een pleisterlaag over keien of kiezels heen. 
Spanish ..... Teja con una cara moldeada para asemejar la cara o el extremo de un ladrillo, particularmente popular entre 1784 (el año en que se fijó el impuesto al ladrillo en Inglaterra) y 1850 (cuando se modificó el impuesto). Debía estar fijada sobre listones de un marco de madera u otro muro y, ocasionalmente, embutida en un enlucido de yeso sobre cantos rodados o guijarros.
