De stijl wordt gekenmerkt door het gebruik van klassiek Griekse vormen en ornamenten, en trachtte, geïnspireerd door 18de-eeuwse archeologische opgravingen, zo nauw mogelijk aan te sluiten bij de oorspronkelijke voorbeelden. |
