Note: The internationally most widely used civil calendar, named for Pope Gregory XIII, who introduced it in October 1582. It is typically used as a proleptic calendar, which means the dates are extended backward to dates preceding its official introduction in 1582. The Gregorian calendar was a refinement to the Julian calendar, correcting the length of the year by 0.002% through alteration of leap years.

| Dutch ..... De internationaal meest gebruikte civiele kalender, vernoemd naar paus Gregorius XIII, die hem in oktober 1582 introduceerde. Hij wordt veelal proleptisch gebruikt, wat wil zeggen dat de data met terugwerkende kracht worden geteld voor data vóór de officiële ingang van de kalender in 1582. De gregoriaanse kalender was een verfijning van de juliaanse kalender, waarmee de lengte van een jaar met 0,002 procent werd bijgesteld door het aanpassen van de schrikkeljaren. |
