Note: French term of uncertain derivation denoting decorative candlestands; original type had a circular top and a central standard, often in the form of a Moor, or, as the taste for exoticism increased, of a negress or Indian. In Louis XV and Louis XVI periods guéridons became small movable tables.

Ze hadden vaak de vorm van een Moor of, naarmate de interesse in exotica toenam, een negerin of Indiaan. In de periode van Louis XV en Louis XVI werden guéridons kleine, verplaatsbare tafels. |

Término francés de origen incierto que denomina soportes de candelero decorativos; el tipo original tienen una cabeza circular y un pie central, frecuentemente en forma de moro o cuando el gusto por lo exótico aumentó, de negros o indios. En los períodos Luis XV y Luis XVI los guéridones se convirtieron en mesas móviles. |
