Note: Principally used in Classical architecture, the lowest of the three main parts of an entablature that rests on the abacus of a column, comprising a horizontal beam that spans the columns or piers in the manner of a lintel. The other two parts of the entablature are the cornice and the frieze. For the architrave-like molded frame that surrounds a door or window, use "architrave trim." For the ornamental moldings around the exterior curve of an arch, use "archivolts."

Arabic ..... يستخدم بشكل أساسي في الهندسة المعمارية الكلاسيكية، وهو الجزء الأدنى من الأجزاء الثلاثة الرئيسية للسطح المسطح الذي يرتكز على عداد عمود، ويشتمل على شعاع أفقي يمتد على الأعمدة أو الأرصفة بطريقة العتب. الجزءان الآخران من السطح المعمد هما الكورنيش والإفريز. بالنسبة للإطار المصبوب الذي يشبه العتبة والذي يحيط بالباب أو النافذة، استخدم"architrave trim." . بالنسبة للقوالب الزينة حول المنحنى الخارجي للقوس، استخدم "archivolts." 
Dutch ..... Wordt gebruikt voor het onderste deel van een klassiek entablement en voor objecten met gelijksoortige kenmerken wanneer deze zich rond deuren of andere openingen bevinden. 
German ..... Gewöhnlich verwendet in der klasssischen Architektur, der niedrigste von den 3 Hauptteilen eines Gebälks, das auf dem Abakus einer Säule sitzt, inklusive des horizontalen Balkens, der auf der Säule oder dem Pfeiler wie ein Sturz aufliegt. Die anderen beiden Teile des Gebälks nennt man Gesims und Fries. Für den Architrav-ähnlich geformten Rahmen, der eine Tür oder ein Fenster umrahmt, siehe "Verdachung". Für die ornamentalen Verzierungen entlang der Außenkurve eines Gewölbes, gehe zu "Archivolte".
