Note: Motif derived from the the boteh, copied from Kashmiri shawls by the woollen manufacturers of Paisley, Scotland in the 19th century, and becoming popular in Britain, France, and North America. It occurs in many variations and with numerous ancillary motifs, particularly in textile patterns.

Te gebruiken voor het motief dat is afgeleid van een zeer gestileerd plantmotief van oosterse herkomst, 'boteh' genaamd, in de 19e eeuw overgenomen van kasjmiersjaals door fabrikanten uit Paisley in Schotland en populair geworden in Groot-Brittannië. Het motief bestaat in vele varianten en met talloze nevenmotieven, met name in textielpatronen. |
