Record Type: concept
capacity spectrum method (analysis and testing techniques, <processes and techniques by specific type>, Processes and Techniques (hierarchy name))

Note: A performance-based seismic analysis technique used to evaluate existing structures and estimate the inelastic response of a structure in an earthquake. The method compares the capacity of the structure (in the form of a pushover curve) with the demand on the structure (in the form of a response spectrum). The graphical intersection of the two curves approximates the response of the structure.
