| Dutch ..... De daad of het proces van opgaan van de aardse naar de hemelse sfeer. De term verwijst vaak specifiek naar de hemelvaart van Christus, waarvan de apostelen veertig dagen na zijn opstanding getuige waren. Het geloof in de hemelvaart van Christus werd een belangrijk onderdeel van het christendom, dat de eenheid met God de Vader, de overstijging van de beperkingen van tijd en ruimte, en de universele aanwezigheid symboliseert. De term kan ook verwijzen naar de opstijging ten hemel van de profeet Mohammed. |
