Note: A school of Pure Land Buddhism in Japan which focuses on the mercy and power of Amida Buddha, the Buddha of infinite light and deep compassion. It is by the grace of Amida that one can be reborn into Amida's paradise or Pure Land, and from there one can eventually attain nirvana. The school was founded in 1175 by Honen, who emphasized the practice of 'nembutsu,' the repeated calling upon the name of Amida Buddha. Jodo is the second largest school of Pure Land in Japan. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 指中國淨土宗在日本的流派,崇尚阿彌陀佛(具無量光及深切憐憫的佛陀)的慈悲與力量。若受到阿彌陀的恩賜,便可在阿彌陀的天堂或淨土重生,最終可在該處達到涅盤。本流派於西元1175年由法然(Honen)建立,強調「念佛」,也就是重複念誦阿彌陀佛法號。日本淨土宗是中國淨土宗在日本第二大的流派。 |
Dutch ..... Een school van het Reine Land-boeddhisme in Japan, die is gericht op de genade en de macht van de amida-boeddha, de boeddha van het allesomvattende licht en intense ontferming. Door de genade van Amida kan iemand worden herboren in het paradijs van Amida of het Reine Land, om van daaruit uiteindelijk het nirwana te bereiken. De school werd in 1175 gesticht door Honen, die de nadruk legde op het gebruik van 'nembutsu', het herhaaldelijk aanroepen van de amida-boeddha. Jodo is de op een na grootste school van het Reine Land in Japan. |
Spanish ..... Una escuela de budismo Tierra Pura en Japón que se enfoca en la piedad y poder de Amida Buda, el Buda de la luz infinita y compasión profunda. Es por la gracia de amida que uno puede renacer en el paraíso de Amida o PURE LAND, y desde ahí uno puede eventualmente alcanzar el nirvana. La escuela fue fundada en 1175 por Honen que enfatizó la práctica de "nembutsu" recurrir repetitivamente al nombre de Amida Buda. Jodo es la segunda escuela más grande de Tierra Pura en Japón. |
