Record Type: concept
decating machines (textile machines, <textile fabricating tools and equipment>, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name))

Note: Mechanized devices designed to facilitate maximum shrink-resistance in woolen cloth by exposing the material to a steam atmosphere under controlled pressure. These devices are comprised of hot cylindrical drums around which the woolen cloth is continuously wound with minimum tension while being rotated and sprayed with atomized steam or hot water. Through this process, these devices ensure that the woolen materials experience maximum shrinkage thus preventing further shrinkage during subsequent processing and wearing.

Terms:
decating machines (preferred,C,U,English-P,UF,U,PN)
decating machine (C,U,English,AD,U,SN)
