Note: Tree bark employed historically as writing material for important manuscripts in Assam, India. To write on Sanchipat, a waterproof ink was used, prepared with Silikha seed, Kehraj (a type of grass),ashes and minerals and applied with a bird’s feather. The material and associated technique are now rarely used.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Boombast die vroeger in de deelstaat Assam in India bij belangrijke manuscripten werd gebruikt om op te schrijven. Op Sanchipat werd geschreven met watervaste inkt, die was bereid met silikha-zaad, kehraj (een soort gras), as en mineralen, en die met een vogelveer werd aangebracht. Het materiaal en de bijbehorende techniek worden nu nog maar zelden gebruikt.
