| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar schrijfmeubels die in het algemeen zijn voorzien van een rolluik. Een scrutoire kan ook bestaan uit een groep kastjes op een tafel die wordt gebruikt om op te schrijven. De scrutoire was begin 18de eeuw populair in Frankrijk, Engeland en de Verenigde Staten, maar werd ook later wel gebruikt. Tegenwoordig wordt een scrutoire doorgaans onderscheiden van een 'escritoire' of een 'secretaire' door de aanwezigheid van karakteristieke vakjes en laatjes boven het schrijfblad; de drie termen worden soms echter door elkaar gebruikt. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere a cabinets, generalmente con un frente abatible usado para escribir. Un scrutoire puede también ser un conjunto de cabinets puestos en una mesa, que es usada para escribir. Fué popular en Francia, Ingleterra y América a comienzos del siglo XVIII, pero también fué usado con posterioridad. En el uso moderno, se diferencia generalmente de "escritoire" o "secreter" por tener chiribitiles pequeños y cajoneras sobre la superficie de escritura; sin embargo los tres términos son usado indistintamente. |
