Dutch ..... Alleen gebruiken voor puzzels die bestaan uit landkaarten die op karton of hout zijn geplakt en in onregelmatig gevormde stukken zijn gezaagd, om weer samengevoegd te worden bij wijze van educatieve oefening; ze werden halverwege de 18e eeuw bedacht en bleven populair tot het begin van de 19e eeuw, vooral in Engeland en de Verenigde Staten. 
Spanish ..... Úsese sólo para rompecabezas que consisten en mapas montados en cartulina o madera y recortados en piezas de formas irregulares para ser vueltos a reensamblar como un ejercicio didáctico; inventados a mediados del siglo XVIII y populares durante comienzos del siglo XIX, sobre todo en Inglaterra y los Estados Unidos.
