Note: Events during which parties compete for an honor, job, or the like. A prime example is in the context of art and architecture, where a competition is a formal process by which competing architects or artists submit plans, and often budgets and other information, to the same client or patron for the same architectural or artistic project. For the physical works produced by the competition, use "competitions (object groupings)."
