Dutch ..... Glazen, gestemd, opgesteld in een serie; bespeeld door eroverheen te wrijven, soms ook door er tegenaan te slaan, waardoor een geluid ontstaat als van een strijkinstrument. 
Spanish ..... Armónicas de cristal desarrolladas por Benjamin Franklin alrededor de 1761, en las cuales bols de cristal de tamaños graduados montados concéntricamente sobre una barra horizontal giran mediante una manija incorporada a un pedal mientras el ejecutante fricciona los bordes con dedos ligeramente húmedos o con polvo de tiza para producir sonido. En un desarrollo levemente posterior, estos instrumentos tienen una artesa no profunda de agua instalada debajo de la barra, la cual está montada en forma oblicua a fin de que los bols se humedezcan a medida que van rotando.
