Record Type: concept
iron oxide (compound) (compounds (materials), <materials by chemical form>, ... Materials (hierarchy name))

Note: Binary compound of oxygen and iron as occurs naturally, for example, in the mineral hematite. There are sixteen known iron oxides and oxyhydroxides. The corrosion product rust is a form of iron oxide. Iron oxides have many applications including chemical catalyst, pigment and colorant.

Terms:
iron oxide (compound) (preferred,C,U,English-P,D,U,N)
oxide, iron (C,U,English,UF,U,U)
iron oxides (C,U,English,UF,U,U)
ferric oxide (C,U,English,UF,U,U)

ijzeroxide (C,U,Dutch-P,D,U,U)
ijzeroxiden (C,U,Dutch,AD,U,U)

Additional Notes:
Dutch .....
