Note: A fluid medium used for drawings or tracings. An opaque, usually black, pigment is mixed with a vehicle such as water to produce a fluid which can be applied with a pen or brush. Through the end of the 19th century, ink was supplied dried in stick or block form which was ground and mixed with water as needed. At the beginning of this century prepared ink became popular.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種液態的媒材，用於素描和摹圖。一種不透明、通常是黑色的顏料，與諸如水的展色劑混合，以製造出能用在鋼筆或描畫針上的液體。在整個十九世紀末期，墨水是以乾燥的棒或塊狀形式所提供，依需要磨碎並與水混合。本世紀（應指二十世紀）初，調製墨汁變得廣受歡迎。 |
| Dutch ..... Een vloeibare stof die wordt gebruikt voor tekeningenof overtrektekeningen. Een ondoorzichtig, doorgaans zwart pigment wordt vermengd met een oplosmiddel, zoals water, om een vloeistof te verkrijgen die met een pen of inkt kan worden aangebracht. Tot het eind van de 19de eeuw werd inkt droog aangeleverd, in de vorm van een tablet of staafje dat naar behoeven werd vermalen en opgelost in water. Aan het begin van de 20ste eeuw ging men over op bereide inkt. |
| Spanish ..... Medio fluido utilizado para dibujos o trazos. Pigmento opaco, habitualmente negro, mezclado con un vehículo tal como agua para producir un fluido que puede ser aplicado con una pluma o una aguja. Hacia fines del siglo XIX, la tinta se suministraba seca, en barras o bloques, que eran molidos y mezclados con agua a medida que se necesitaba. A comienzos del siglo XX se hizo más popular la tinta preparada. |
