Dutch ..... Losvallende, tot de enkel reikende herengewaden, die informeel werden gedragen van de 17e tot begin 19e eeuw, oorspronkelijk naar het model van de Japanse kimono, maar later ook verzamelnaam voor soortgelijke, doch minder op de kimono gelijkende, gewaden. 
German ..... Locker umgehender Überwurf für Männer, zwanglos vom 17. bis Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts getragen; benannt nach ihrer Ähnlichkeit mit einem ähnlichen Kleidungsstück, das von den Banyans, einer Kaste der hinduistischen Händlern, getragen wurde. 
Spanish ..... Capa masculina de faldones sueltos que se llevaba informalmente desde el siglo XVII hasta los inicios del siglo XIX; llamada así por su semejanza con la vestimenta similar que llevaban los Banyaras, una casta de mercaderes hidúes.
