Note: Arrangements of ropes, wires, chains, cables, hooks, and other fittings used to support and move components of a constructed thing. A primary example is "nautical rigging," used for securing or supporting masts, yards, and for hoisting, lowering, or trimming the sails. Other examples include, but are not limited to, the wires or cables used to support the structure a hot-air balloon and distribute the load over its surface, the cables supporting the wings of a biplane, and the system of cables, hooks, chains used in hauling logs, and hooks and cables used in architectural construction.

| Dutch ..... Geheel van touwen, draden, kettingen, kabels, haken en andere onderdelen voor de ondersteuning en het verplaatsen van componenten van een constructie. De term wordt vooral in de scheepvaart gebruikt, voor het bevestigen van masten en ra's en voor het hijsen, strijken van zeilen of het optuigen van een zeilschip. Verder wordt de term gebruikt voor kabels die de constructie van een heteluchtballon steunen en de last over het oppervlak verdelen, de kabels die de vleugels van een dubbeldekkervliegtuig ondersteunen, het systeem van kabels, haken en kettingen dat wordt gebruikt om boomstammen te verslepen, en de haken en kabels die in de bouw worden gebruikt.
