Note: General term for wood obtained from various Brazilian trees of the genera Aspidosperma or Paratecoma. The red or rosa peroba produces a pink hardwood while the white peroba gives wood that is a pale olive to a dark brown in color. The wood has a straight grain and a fine uniform texture. It is strongly resistant to insect, fungi and to acids. Peroba wood is used for furniture, flooring, paneling, veneers, and carving. All types are durable and fine-grained, used for fine furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and carvings.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 泛指以產於巴西的各類白堅木屬或塞黃鐘花屬樹木所取得的木材。紅盾籽木可生產出粉紅色的硬木，而白盾籽木所製成的木材則呈淡橄欖色至深棕色。盾籽木的木材紋理筆直，質地細密均勻。此種木材相當防蟲、防霉，且防酸蝕。盾籽木材可用於製作家具、地板、嵌板、薄板與雕刻。所有的類型都相當耐用且質地細膩，可用於製作高級家具、細木工家具、地板與雕刻。 |
| Dutch ..... Algemene term voor hout van verschillende Braziliaanse bomen van de geslachten Aspidosperma of Paratecoma. De rode of roze peroba produceert roze hardhout, terwijl het hout van de witte peroba bleek olijfkleurig tot donkerbruin van kleur is. Het hout heeft een rechte nerf en een fijne gelijkmatige structuur. Het is zeer goed bestand tegen insecten, schimmels en zuren. Perobahout wordt gebruikt voor meubels, vloeren, lambrisering, fineer en beeldsnijwerken. Alle soorten zijn duurzaam en fijnkorrelig, en worden gebruikt voor hoogwaardige meubels, kasten, vloeren en beeldsnijwerken. |
