Dutch ..... Ijzerlegering die van nature vezelachtig is; wordt gemaakt door wit gietijzer te smelten, er met een oxiderende vlam overheen te gaan en het tot een massa te rollen; wordt gewaardeerd om de roestbestendigheid en kneedbaarheid. Gebruik 'gesmeed' wanneer er objecten worden beschreven die zijn gemaakt of gevormd door het slaan met een hamer. 
Spanish ..... Aleación de hierro de carácter fibroso obtenida al fundir hierro fundido blanco, pasando una llama oxidante por sobre el mismo y enrollándolo hasta formar una masa. Apreciado por su resistencia a la corrosión y su ductilidad. Cuando se describen objetos producidos o conformados golpeando con un martillo, úsase "fraguado."
