Schmidt cameras (astronomical telescopes, astronomical instruments, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Telescopes that have both reflecting and refracting elements to produce magnified images. Schmidt telescopes were invented by Bernhard Schmidt of the Bergedorf Observatory in Hamburg, in 1930. Each Schmidt telescope has a spherical primary mirror which then passes light through a spherical corrective lens, thus eliminating spherical aberrations from the mirror. |
