pacific converter (<textile fabricating tools and equipment>, textile working equipment, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name))

Note: Mechanized devices designed to change the synthetic tow, or coarse fibers that have been removed during textile processing, into sheets of fibers cut into predetermined lengths. These devices then transform the cut fibers into slivers to be used in subsequent drawing processes. Ideal for blending disparate types of synthetic and natural fibers, the devices were popularized in the English, French, and American textile industries due to their effeciency and ability to by-pass opening, picking, carding, gilling, and combing processes. Introduced to the textile industry in 1949, these devices fueled the application of tow-to-top conservion systems throughout the world.
