Note: Mechanized devices designed to remove knots, loose or long threads, foreign matter, and other defects from the surface of woolen cloth before it is fulled. These devices comprise a feeder that guides open-width and taut fabric into the machine; rotary brushes for removing long threads from the fabric; and a series of hook-like needles that penetrate the fabric, surface knots, and remaining defects for subsequent shearing.
