braiding machines (textile machines, <textile fabricating tools and equipment>, ... Furnishings and Equipment (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Mechanized devices designed to interweave three or more strands of yarn, wire, or other material to create complex braided structures such as rope, reinforced hose, power cords, and lace. While these devices can take many forms, they commonly comprise a central column and/or rotating disk around which carriers and bobbins are arranged. The device's carriers and bobbins move in a circular pattern, interlacing the strands of material. Though commonly used in the textile industry, these devices have various additional applications in the medical, aerospace, automotive, and electronics industries, amongst others. |
