Algemene naam voor een aantal computerbesturingssystemen voor pc's; verschillende, ongerelateerde schijfbesturingssystemen voor microcomputers hadden de afkorting 'DOS' (Disk Operating System) in hun naam. Een voorbeeld was MS-DOS, dat tussen 1981 en 1985 de markt voor IBM-pc's en daarmee compatibele computers overheerste. |
