Note: The first photographic positive transparency process utilizing albumen-coated glass plates for making lantern slides. Introduced by Frederick and William Langenheim of Philadelphia in 1849. The process was also used for making large glass transparencies hung in windows as decorative works.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Het eerste fotografische proces voor diapositieven, waarbij glazen platen met een laag albumen werden gebruikt om lantaarnplaatjes te maken. De techniek is in 1849 door Frederick en William Langenheim uit Philadelphia geïntroduceerd. Zij werd ook gebruikt om grote glazen transparanten te maken om ter versiering voor het raam te hangen.
