Note: Species of small deciduous tree, 2 to 8 meters in height; native to northeastern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It has a paper-like bark that can be removed easily. Its sap is harvested through incisions; the milk-like juice hardens on exposure to air and is used as incense.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Kleine bladverliezende boomsoort, van 2 tot 8 meter hoog, die inheems is in Noordoost-Afrika en het Arabisch Schiereiland. De boom heeft een papierachtige schors die gemakkelijk verwijderd kan worden. Het melkachtige sap wordt via insnijdingen geoogst. Dit sap verhardt als het met de lucht in aanraking komt en wordt gebruikt als wierook.
