Note: Species of large tree native to tropical western Africa, reaching 60 meters in height, having a domed or flat crown and a trunk that is branchless for much of its height. It bears a fruit, the samara, with two wings. The wood is used for various purposes, including musical instruments.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Grote boom die inheems is in de tropische gebieden in het westen van Afrika. De boom kan 60 meter hoog worden en heeft een koepelvormige of platte kroon. Aan het grootste deel van de stam groeien geen takken. De vrucht is een dopvrucht met twee vleugels. Het hout gebruikt men op verschillende manieren, onder meer voor het maken van muziekinstrumenten.
