Note: Species of evergreen tree native to the west coast of North America, from the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, south to northernmost California, typically occurring on wet sites in mountains, often close to the tree line, but sometimes also at lower altitudes. It reaches 40 m tall, commonly with pendulous branches. Due to morphological anomalies, its classification has been changed several times, and is likely to do so in the future due to recent research, perhaps moving it to a new genus Callitropsis or Xanthocyparis, together with the newly discovered Vietnamese Golden Cypress Xanthocyparis (Callitropsis) vietnamensis.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 種名，是北美洲西海岸常綠樹木的原生種，生長範圍從阿拉斯加的肯奈半島（Kenai Peninsula）向南延伸至加州的最北端，一般而言常見於山區的潮濕處，通常很接近林木線（指樹木生長的上限），但有時也可見於較低海拔的地區。它的高度可達 40 公尺高，通常有著下垂的樹枝。由於型態上的變異，它的分類已經變動多次，而且根據最近的研究，其分類在未來仍可能會改變，或許會將之移到新的屬：金杉（Callitropsis或Xanthocyparis），與最近發現的越南金杉（Xanthocyparis (Callitropsis) vietnamensis）歸在同一個屬。 |
| Dutch ..... Groenblijvende boomsoort die inheems is langs de westkust van Noord-Amerika, van het schiereiland Kenai in Alaska tot het noordelijkste deel van Californië, en die meestal op vochtige locaties in de bergen groeit, vaak dicht bij de boomgrens, maar soms ook lager. Hij kan een hoogte van 40 m bereiken en heeft meestal afhangende takken. Als gevolg van de afwijkende bouw is de classificatie al een aantal keren gewijzigd. Recent onderzoek laat zien dat de kans groot is dat dit in de toekomst weer zal gebeuren en dat deze boom mogelijk wordt ondergebracht in een ander genus, Callitropsis of Xanthocyparis, samen met de onlangs ontdekte Vietnamese goudcipres Xanthocyparis (Callitropsis) vietnamensis. |
