Note: Specifically refers to a distinctive style of script having connecting strokes between characters and extremely fluid writing style, including the following distinctive characteristics: radicals are simplified into symbols or marks and one may stand for another; strokes are continuous and structures of characters are relatively plain; the text includes blank spaces between characters and rows; changes may occur in the thickness of each brushstroke and darkness of ink. It has been regarded as the script that can best represent a calligrapher's personal expressions and emotions.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 廣義指寫法潦草者，因此行書亦包括於草書寫法中；狹義專指筆畫連綿，書寫便捷的書體。其特色為：偏旁簡化為符號並互相假借，筆畫連貫，結字簡約，書寫快速，字距與行距寬窄、點畫粗細大小、墨色的濃淡均可自由發揮，是最能表現書寫者感情的書體。 |
| Dutch ..... Verwijst specifiek naar een schriftstijl met verbindende halen tussen de karakters en een uiterst vloeiende schrijfstijl, met de volgende onderscheidende kenmerken: stamvormen worden vereenvoudigd tot symbolen of merktekens en een ervan kan voor een ander staan; de halen zijn ononderbroken en de karakterstructuren zijn betrekkelijk simpel; de tekst bevat witruimte tussen de karakters en tussen de regels; de dikte van de penseelstreek en de donkerheid van de inkt kunnen variëren. Deze schriftstijl wordt wel beschouwd als die waarin de persoonlijke expressies en emoties van een kalligraaf het best kunnen worden weergegeven. |
