Note: Rooms or areas in domestic architecture set aside for the care of babies and young children, distinguished from "night nurseries," which contain only bedding and supplies for nighttime care. Day nurseries typically serve as playrooms and schoolrooms. They are also distinguished from "day care centers," which are public or private facilities for the care of groups of children, while the day nursery is in the children's home.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Ruimtes waarin men baby's en jonge kinderen verzorgt. Te onderscheiden van nachtverblijven, die alleen bedden en voorzieningen hebben voor nachtverzorging. Dagverblijven dienen gewoonlijk als speel- en onderwijsruimtes. Kinderdagverblijven zijn publieke of particuliere instellingen voor de opvang van kinderen overdag. 
German ..... Raum oder Bereich, der in der Architektur von Bürgerhäusern für die Baby- und Kleinkinderbetreuung vorgesehen ist und unterschieden wird vom "Kinderschlafzimmer", in dem sich nur das Bett und Gegenstände für die Nachtruhe befinden. Kinderstuben dienen üblicherweise als Spiel- und Schulzimmer. Ebenfalls werden sie von "Kindertagesstätten" unterschieden, bei denen es sich um öffentliche oder private Einrichtungen für die Betreuung von Kindergruppen handelt, während sich die Kinderstube im Wohnhaus der Kinder befindet.
