Note: Traditional crown-like headdresses worn by Russian girls and women. Originally elements of folk costume intended to support a veil, they developed into diadem-shaped tiaras that were part of the official court dress for royalty and ladies-in-waiting in the 19th century.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Traditionele kroonachtige hoofdtooien die door Russische meisjes en vrouwen werden gedragen. Oorspronkelijk onderdeel van folkloristische kostuums bedoeld om een sluier aan te hangen, maar later diadeemvormige tiara's die in de negentiende eeuw deel uitmaakten van de officiĆ«le hofkledij voor vrouwen van koninklijken bloede en voor hofdames.
