Note: Ornamental pieces made of metal or wood that were used in traditional Japanese architecture to cover the wooden pegs necessary to secure the crossing of the lintel and uprights. They were also used on doors to conceal the heads of large nails.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Versieringen van metaal of hout die men in de traditionele Japanse architectuur gebruikte om de houten pinnen te bedekken waarmee lateien en stijlen aan elkaar werden vastgezet. De versieringen gebruikte men ook om grote spijkerkoppen in deuren te maskeren. 
German ..... Ornamentales Metall- oder Holzstück, das in der traditionellen japanischen Architektur dazu verwendet wird, hölzerne Zapfen zu verdecken, die die Verbindung von Türsturz und Pfosten sichern. Sie werden außerdem dazu benutzt, die Köpfe großer Nägel an Türen zu verdecken.
