Note: Vertical flutes of Southern Africa, with three finger holes. They are similar to the ombgwes of the Katanga people of Zimbabwe, in that they are made with stopped canes, which are fit into a hollow nsala fruit shell. The flute is played by blowing across a hole in the shell. |

Dutch ..... Verticale fluiten uit zuidelijk Afrika met drie vingergaten. Ze zijn soortgelijk aan de ombgwes van het Katangavolk in Zimbabwe in die zin dat ze worden gemaakt van een gesloten rietstengel in een holle nsalabast. De fluit wordt bespeeld door langs een gat in de bast te blazen. |
German ..... Längsflöte aus Südafrika mit drei Fingerlöchern. Das Instrument ist der Föte ["Ombgwe"](300265883) der Katanga in Simbabwe ähnlich und ebenfalls aus einem gedackten Rohr hergestellt, das in eine ausgehöhlte Schale einer Brechnussart (Strychnos spinosa) eingepasst ist. Die Flöte wird gespielt, indem über ein Loch in der Schale geblasen wird. |
