Dutch ..... Primitieve gitaren van Afrikaanse volkeren, in het bijzonder Hottentotten en Bosjesmannen. Ze hebben gewoonlijk geen fretten, een buik van huid en drie of vier snaren die met de vingers worden bespeeld. 
German ..... Einfache Gitarre afrikanischer Völker, besonders der Hottentotten und Buschmänner. Sie ist gewöhnlich bundlos, hat einen Korpus aus Fell und drei oder vier Saiten, die mit den Fingern gezupft werden.
