Note: Hooded cloaks, usually sleeveless, typically worn by Christian monks. The term originally applied to outer garments worn by both men and women in Europe, but around 530 CE became the outerwear prescribed by St. Benedict for the monks of his order, hence their primary association with monks. The term is also sometimes used for the hoods alone. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 附兜帽的斗蓬,通常無袖,一般由基督教修道士穿著。本詞彙原指歐洲男女均可穿的外部服裝,但於西元530年左右經由聖本篤指定,所有本篤會修道士一律穿著此種外衣,從此即成為主要由修道士所穿的服裝;本詞彙有時亦單指兜帽。 |
Dutch ..... Capuchonmantels, doorgaans zonder mouwen en gedragen door christelijke monniken. De term verwees oorspronkelijk naar overkleding die in Europa door zowel mannen als vrouwen werden gedragen, maar rond 530 werd de overkleding door Sint Benedictus voorgeschreven voor de monniken van zijn orde, vandaar dat ze vooral worden geassocieerd met monniken. De term wordt soms alleen voor de capuchon gebruikt. |
German ..... Kapuzen-Mantel, in der Regel ärmellos, der gewöhnlich von christlichen Mönchen getragen wird. Der Begriff bezieht sich ursprünglich auf eine Oberbekleidung für Männer und Frauen in Europa, aber rund 530 n.Chr. hat St. Benedikt diese Oberbekleidung den Mönchen seines Ordens vorgeschrieben, deshalb die bevorzugte Verbindung des Begriffs mit Mönchen. Der Begriff wird manchmal auch nur für die Kapuze allein verwendet. |
