Note: Refers to the process or branch of fine art concerned with creating sculpture, which are three-dimensional works. It refers particularly to carving or engraving a hard material, or with molding or casting a malleable material, so as to produce designs or figures in relief, in intaglio, or in the round. It is typically used to refer to the production of large or medium-sized objects in stone, clay, or bronze. The production of small objects in bronze or stone is typically referred to by a specific term, such as "stone carving" or "die sinking." The production of sculpture in wood or ivory is typically referred to as "carving," even though the finished work in these materials may be called "sculpture (visual work)."

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar het proces dat of de kunstvorm die zich bezighoudt met het maken van beeldhouwwerken. Het verwijst met name naar het snijden of graveren van hard materiaal of het vormen of gieten van smeedbaar materiaal teneinde ontwerpen of figuren in reliëf, in intaglio of vrijstaand te maken. Het wordt doorgaans gebruikt als verwijzing naar de vervaardiging van grote of middelgrote objecten van steen, klei of brons. Naar de vervaardiging van kleine objecten van brons of steen wordt doorgaans verwezen met een specifieke term, zoals 'steensnijden' of 'matrijsgieten'. De vervaardiging van beelden van hout of ivoor wordt doorgaans 'beeldsnijden' genoemd. 
Spanish ..... Refiere al proceso o a la rama del arte referido a la escultura. Se refiere particularmente a tallar o a grabar en un material duro, o con el moldeado o el bastidor un material maleable, para producir diseños o figuras, en talla, o en bulto redondo. Se utiliza para referirse a la producción de objetos grandes o de tamaño mediano en piedra, arcilla, o bronce. La producción de objetos pequeños en bronce o piedra es referida por un término específico, tal como "tallar la piedra”. La producción de la escultura en madera o marfil se refiere típicamente como "tallado.”
