Note: Sculpture used to contain potent medicines that are associated with spiritual or healing power, often taking the form of carved wooden figures or assemblages of objects, such as bundles, shells, pots, and amulets. Originating in the Congo region of Africa, their use in divination, protection, and healing rites has been carried to Cuba, Haiti, Brazil, and the American South.

Dutch ..... Beeldhouwwerken, gebruikt om krachtige medicijnen in te bewaren die in verband worden gebracht met spirituele of genezende krachten, vaak in de vorm van houten figuurtjes of samengestelde objecten zoals bundels, schelpen, potten en amuletten.Ze zijn oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit de Afrikaanse Congo, maar het gebruik ervan in waarzeggings-, beschermings- en genezingsriten is ook verspreid naar Cuba, Haïti, Brazilië en het zuiden van Amerika. 
German ..... Skulptur, die als Gefäß für starke Arzneimittel verwendet und mit spiritueller und heilender Kraft assoziiert wird, oft in Form einer geschnitzten Holzfigur oder einer Zusammenstellung von Objekten, wie Gebinden, Muscheln, Töpfen und Amuletts. Stammt aus der Region Kongo in Afrika, ihre Verwendung zur Weissagung, zum Schutz und für Heilungsriten ist nach Kuba, Haiti, Brasilien und in den Süden Amerikas getragen worden. 
Spanish ..... Esculturas usadas para contener medicinas poderosas que son asociadas con poderes espitiruales y curativos, a menudo tomando la forma de figuras talladas de madera o ensamblaje de objetos, tal como fardos, conchas, potes y amuletos. Originarios de la región de África del Congo, su uso en ritos de adivinación, protección y curación han sido llevados a Cuba, Haiti, Brasil y América del Sur.
