Dutch ..... Spiesvedels met per regio verschillende vormen en afmetingen van de klankkast en lengte van de hals; 2, ook 3 snaren; Indonesië, Maleisië. Op Java en Bali gebruikt in de gamelan. 
Spanish ..... Vielles de Indonesia y Malasia, con dos o tres cuerdas y una caja de resonancia variando en tamaño y forma y longitud de mástil según la región. En Java y Bali se usan en orquestas comunes en el Sudeste de Asia que constan principalmente de instrumentos de percusión
