Note: Variety of porcelain material comprising a soft or hard paste, white, fine, and vitreous, often resembling statuary marble; developed in England in the 1840s and used for figurines, especially dolls, and for art objects, ornament, and tableware. For unglazed porcelain or earthenware that has been fired only once and used for similar types of objects, but producing a grainy texture, use "biscuit (porcelain, material)."

Te gebruiken voor een verscheidenheid van zacht of hard, wit, fijn, glasachtig porselein dat vaak lijkt op beeldhouwmarmer dat in de jaren 40 van de negentiende eeuw in Engeland werd ontwikkeld en gebruikt voor beeldjes, vooral poppen en kunstvoorwerpen, versiering en tafelgerei. Gebruik 'biscuit' voor ongeglazuurd porselein of aardewerk dat slechts één keer gebakken is; het wordt gebruikt voor hetzelfde soort voorwerpen, maar heeft een korrelige structuur. |

Se refiere a una variedad de porcelana de pasta suave o dura, blanca, fina y vítrea que se asemeja a una estatua de mármol y que fue desarrollada en Inglaterra en la década de 1840 para ser usada en figuras, en particular muñecas, y en objetos de arte, adornos y vajilla. Para la porcelana o la loza sin enlucir que ha sido cocida sólo una vez y se utiliza para objetos similares, pero con una textura granulosa, úsese "bizcocho." |
