Dutch ..... Te gebruiken voor doosachtige apparaten die bestaan uit een lamp, reflectoren om het licht te concentreren en meestal lenzen om de lichtstraal te vergroten of verkleinen, en die zijn bedoeld om afbeeldingen te projecteren die op doorzichtige glazen plaatjes zijn geschilderd en langzaam voor de lens langs worden getrokken; ze werden voor het eerst ontwikkeld halverwege de 17e eeuw. 
German ..... Kastenförmiger Gegenstand, der eine Lichtquelle, Reflektoren zur Bündelung des Lichtes und in der Regel Linsen zur Verringerung oder Verstärkung des Lichtes enthält. Man kann damit ein auf transparentes Glas gemaltes Bild auf eine Projektionsfläche werfen und es langsam an der Lichtquelle vorbeigeziehen. 
Portuguese ..... Dispositivos em forma de caixa contendo uma lâmpada, refletores para concentrar a luz e, geralmente, lentes para reduzir ou expandir a luz projetadas para projetar imagens pintadas em transparências de vidro lentamente desenhadas através da lente; desenvolvido pela primeira vez em meados do século 17. 
Spanish ..... Úsese para aparatos parecidos a cajas que contienen una lámpara, reflectores para concentrar la luz y, generalmente, lentes para reducir o expandir la luz diseñados para proyectar imágenes pintadas sobre diapositivas de vidrio cuidadosamente pintadas a lo ancho de los lentes, desarrolladas por primera vez a mediados del siglo XVII.
