Note: Describes works created by the inhabitants of the Torres Strait Islands. The most well known works of the Torres Strait are their double-outrigger sailing canoes, which are capable of carrying a dozen or more people. The canoes are ornamented with engravings and paintings. No example has survived of the decorated Torres Strait canoe, except photographs and drawings.

| Dutch ..... Beschrijft werken die zijn vervaardigd door de bewoners van de eilanden in de Straat van Torres. De bekendste werken uit de Straat van Torres zijn de double-outrigger, een zeilkano die 12 passagiers of meer kan vervoeren. De kano's zijn gedecoreerd met gravures en beschilderingen. Er is geen enkel exemplaar van een gedecoreerde kano uit de Straat van Torres bewaard gebleven, behalve op foto's en tekeningen. |
