Note: Refers to the art and architecture that coincided with the reign of Abdülmecid I, who ruled from 1839 to 1861. He commissioned a portrait painted by British artist Sir David Wilkie, which shows the sultan in a relaxed intimate setting rather than as an enthroned ruler. His contributions to the Topkapi palace include a large pavilion-kiosk built in the French Beaux-Arts style. He also built several mosques designed by the Balian family that continued the trend toward Westernized buildings.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de kunst en architectuur in de periode van de heerschappij van Abdülmedjid I, die regeerde van 1839 tot 1861. Hij gaf opdracht tot een portret dat werd geschilderd door de Britse kunstenaar Sir David Wilkie. Dit portret toont de sultan in een rustige, intieme omgeving, in plaats van als een heerser op de troon. Tot zijn bijdragen aan het Topkapi-paleis behoren een groot paviljoen, dat werd gebouwd in de Franse Beaux-Arts-stijl.
