Note: Refers to the art and architecture that coincided with the rule of Mahmud I, who ruled from 1730 to 1754. He built several fountains during his reign including the large Indian-inspired fountain of Tophane. Also under his supervision was the Nuruosmaniye mosque, which broke from Ottoman tradition with more Western style rectangular ground plans.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de kunst en architectuur in de periode van de heerschappij van Mahmoed I, die regeerde van 1730 tot 1754. Tijdens zijn heerschappij bouwde hij verschillende fonteinen, waaronder de grote op India geïnspireerde fontein van Tophane. Onder zijn supervisie viel ook de Nuruosmaniye-moskee, die brak met de Ottomaanse traditie en die was gebouwd op basis van rechthoekige grondplannen in een meer westerse stijl. |
