Note: Refers to the style and period that coincided with the reign of Mehmed I, 1403-1421. During this period, the Yesil Cami or "Green" mosque was begun in 1412 to 1413, so named so its domes once covered in green tiles. The decoration on general was probably under the supervision of Ali bin Ilyas of Bursa, called Nakkas ("Designer"). The plan is an elaboration of that of Bayazid, although here the sanctury and the south pilgrim's rooms are domed. The north facade is decorated with rich moldings and an elaborate portal in marble. The nearby Tomb of Mehmed I, completed after his death in 1421, have an exterior of panels encased in blue tiles framed in stone.

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de stijl en periode die samenvielen met de heerschappij van Mehmed I, van 1403 tot 1421. Gedurende deze periode werd de Yesil Cami of 'Groene moskee' gebouwd, van 1412 tot 1413. Deze moskee werd zo genoemd omdat de koepels destijds waren bedekt met groene tegels. De inrichting van de moskee stond onder supervisie van Ali bin Ilyas uit Bursa, die Nakkas (‘ontwerper’) werd genoemd. De indeling bouwt voort op de indeling van de moskee van Bajezid, hoewel het sanctuarium en de zuidelijke pelgrimsruimten hier een koepel hebben gekregen. De noordelijke gevel is versierd met uitgebreid lijstwerk en een portaal van marmer. De naburige graftombe van Mehmed I, die na zijn dood in 1421 is voltooid, heeft een exterieur met panelen omlijst met blauwe, in steen gelegde tegels.
